[USS Charon] SD240909.22 || Personal BackLog "A Match for a Match" Part XII - Ens Nathanial Doyle

==/\== San Francisco Police Department - Chief Inspector Dorian's Office ==/\== SD240401.24 [11:46]

"Chief Inspectors log, case file 23A54C47 Missing persons Arianna Jade Collins. all roads lead to Rome, or so the saying goes, and everything keeps leading back to one name. Nathanial Doyle. He was the last known person to see Arianna, there is pictures of them together on the day she disappeared, ...being intimate, he was seen at a non-reputable location with her, he appeared at the crime scene, and he has motive. On top of that he seam's to know more than he should, but even though all the evidence, leads us to him, it feels like its too convenient, like its been setup. Its as if whoever is behind this wants' me to come to the conclusion that it is Nathanial. Computer pause recording" [Breep]

The inspector stood up and began to pace, he knew whoever was behind this must know about Nathanial a fair bit, infact it would most probably be someone that was close to Nathanial. He shifted back to his desk and pulled up the file on Nathanial, he then accessed the list that had been compiled of friends and other parties involved with Nathanial.
It was quite a long list, Nathanial seemed to be involved in almost everything, or had a link to it none the less.
He scanned over the list, looking for something, he wasn't sure yet, but it would strike him when he saw it.
A few minutes went by, and then he saw it, past criminal history, close relationship with Nathanial, possible motive, infact the more he looked at the file the more he felt a possible connection.
He brought up the address and opened one of his draws, grabbing a few items.
Dorian then stood up and grabbed his coat, heading for the door.

He had left in a hurry and had left his computer on. The screen flashed before bringing up a screensaver, it was one of those screensavers that took what was on your screen and jumbled it like a puzzle. It split the screen into squares and began to rearrange everything. If anyone had walked in, they would have seen a jumbled dossier, but if you looked closely enough, you could spot the name of who it belonged to, one Sara Culligan...

Sara heard her door make the familiar Buzz, advising her someone was there. 'he probably forgot something' she thought to herself.
Nathanial had only left a few minutes ago, 'or maybe he's come back just to spend some time with me' she pondered while walking over to the door.
Sara pressed the activation button, the door opened and without even waiting she started to speak.
"So what did you forge..."
She stopped mid sentence, realizing that it wasn't Nathanial. She recognized him
"...Oh I know you right, your"
"Yes I am, I have something important to talk to you about" He said interrupting her sentence.
He looked left and right down the hall, as if worried someone might hear them.
Sara spotted the worried look on his face and moved over and making a gesture for him to come in. He nodded his head and entered the apartment.
He reached into his pocket grabbing a hypospray, turned, and watched her close the door.
As the door closed, he lifted his hand towards the back of her neck and injected the fluid into her. Sara felt the hypospray go off and knew something was wrong, she turned around as quickly as she could, pushing him away, but it was too late, most of the fluid had already been injected.
She hit him, causing him to fall back into one of her cabinets. The cabinet broke, and he lost his balance falling to the floor.
Sara turned to run, but her body did not seem to want to respond, she could feel the energy being drained from her system.
He stood up, and headed towards her, Sara screamed, but instead of some high pitched cry for help, it sounded more like a whimper. The room turned black as she slipped into unconsciousness...

He walked down the hall looking at the door numbers, number 9, number 10, number 11. He stopped and pressed the buzzer. He could hear the buzz through the door. No response. He pressed the button again. After a minute of waiting, he came to the conclusion that no one was home,
"Well I've come all this way, I might as well have a look" He said outloud to himself.
Reaching into his coat he pulled out an odd looking device, lifting it up to the door pad he pressed a few buttons and the screen came to life on the device. It started flicking through number combinations at a fast rate. Not thirty seconds from starting the device there was a Beep and the door opened.
He walked into the apartment, taking a wide scan of what was inside, he noticed the damaged cabinet, he also noticed the marks on the carpet and what looked like a struggle.
He pressed his comm badge "Chief Inspector Dorian here, I need a team down here stat." He gave the address and then pulled out a PADD and began to take notes of the scene.

It didn't take him long to notice a drop of some form of liquid on the floor near the door, it was still fluidic, implying that it had not been there long, he cursed himself for not having anything on him to grab the sample, so he headed to the kitchen and located a glass. Carefully he touched the drop to the lip of the glass, it slowly transferred itself to the glass, leaving behind only a little residue on the carpet. Dorian kept the glass on its side, knowing that the less movement from the glass, the better kept the sample would be.

"Tetrovaline"
The Inspector looked up at the voice. "Are we playing Jeopardy Duvek?" he asked the Vulcan.
"No sir, the fluid we...you found at the girls apartment is Tetrovaline."
"Which is?" Dorian was not in the mood for hunting for information, things were getting more complex by the moment, and a straight answer would be welcome at a time like this.
"Its a sedative sir, a powerful one, used usually to render someone unconscious, in a very short period of time."
"Is it easily available?"
"No sir, only medical facilities would have access to it"
"What about the medical training facilities at the academy?" Asked the inspector.
"Logically they would also have it sir."
"Ok, I want you to check with the academy, find out if they have had any Tetrovaline go missing of late."
"Yes sir" Replied the Duvek, saluting and heading out of the inspectors office.

Dorian was concerned, on one hand maybe this Sara was behind it all and she had just taken another person, or she herself had become the next victim. Again all roads seemed to lead to Nathanial. He sighed, he knew that it was time he paid another visit to the young man that was too bright for his own good...
