[USS Charon] SD 240909.17| Duty Log | Lt. Dlya (ASec)

[Deck 6, Holodeck 2]

"Computer upload program Dlya-9-9 and set safeties at 50%."

The voice called out through the dark room, the lights having been turned off for power conversation purposes as the repair crews worked on the upper decks. As the words were processed in the computer's data banks, it responded as it was programmed to. "Warning: unable to comply. Safety protocols prohibit such action. Override required. Be advised, this is a not a recommended action."

Runo sighed for a moment before reciting his codes and not too long after wards the computer beeped in the affirmative. Runo had returned to the Charon around 7 in the morning after spending a sleepless night on Lyrilla. Something about the planet gave off this unsettled vibe to him and it had kept him up during the night. Taking a morning run along the beach near where a friend had managed to secure him a spot planet side, he was able to catch one of the sunrises that were suddenly making a very large impression on the Lyrillians. He had to admit though, although he would never admit it to another person, it was a spectacular sight.

Settling down onto the floor in a cross-legged position, he closed his eyes and began to take a few deep breaths. He slowly and quietly slipped into a meditative state but had he looked around, he would have to rank the visual up there with the Lyrillian sunset. He was perched on top of a large, tall mesa during a strange and unusual electrical storm that had been observed on a small moon orbiting some colony world in the Beta Quadrant. The sky was dark and the lightning altering color in mid-strike, sometimes only appearing in the clouds. There was a light breeze and the sound of rolling thunder echoed through the holodeck. At that moment, a discolored lightning bolt streaked across the heavens, lighting up the entire area and eventually branching off in several directions. The air felt charged and upon it, the smell of burnt ozone but there was something else. Something sweet, like a flower, but spicy enough to make Runo think otherwise. Somehow, he found all of the chaos and raw fury of the storm to be relaxing and he was enjoying the program when the unidentified scent grew stronger as the breeze flared up. His lips curled into a smile as suddenly it clicked in his brain. It reminded him somewhat of Indira. Indi...

Soon afterwards he realized that it would be difficult to go back to the calm and collected state he had been in before that blasted wind had brought to mind the day before. Not that he hadn't enjoyed her company, in fact he very much wanted to spend some more time with her, but he had come here to collect his thoughts, organize them into a helpful form but at the same time, there was a part of him that was okay with the jumble that was his thoughts. This isn't helping at all.

Standing up, he brushes the dust from him although it wouldn't really matter once he left the holodeck. "Computer end current program and access the security training exercises, program 14 and execute with safeties at 25%." Again the computer repeated its warning but this one was more serious. Runo was tempted to harm the closest console as a way to get back at the calm, unrushed, complacent voice telling him that it was unrecommended to take the safeties offline or even lower them. He again recited his command codes and again the computer complied. The room darkened and changed into an arena based off the Colosseum in Rome. Several unarmed opponets were created as per the program's parameters and Runo went to work. Several minutes later, he was supporting several minor injuries, a sprained ankle, quite a few bruises, a myriad of various other minor wounds that could be healed by simple first aid. With a thin sheen of sweat glistening on his skin, the heat of the sun beating down on him, breathing hard from the extertion he had deliberately put himself through, Runo felt a little more settled than he had before he had walked into the holodeck. Shutting down the program and heading for his quarters for a quick shower and change of clothing into something more casual, he wasn't to report to duty for a few hours, he was in the turbolift heading towards the mess hall afterwards when the call was routed to him, the voice of commander Marcus floating from the combadge. "Lieutenant Dlya, report to transporter room 1 immediately."

"Now what... computer reroute turbolift to transporter room 1."

He gritted his teeth when the computer sweetly began. "Unable to comply. Be advised, this is not a recommened...."
