[USS Charon] SD240909.03 - Personal BackLog "Fundamentals?" Part II - ASCI - Cadet Nathanial Doyle

-=SD240908.29=-

"Yes Nathanial, you killed us!" Yelled the little girl at him.
He stared dumbfounded at the girl, he didn't know what to say, he tried to blurt out a few words but nothing came out.
The girl started to change, her face began to warp, her clothes started to tear. She was mutating into what seemed to be a large blob, no not a blob, rather a large Omega particle.
He started to panic, something was not right, this didn't make any sense but he could not move.
The particle started to become unstable, he noticed everything in its vicinity including himself start to warp. White dots appeared all around as if space and time was being torn.
"You killed us!" it screamed. And everything exploded into white nothingness.

Nathanial woke up in a cold sweat, he walked over to his basin and ran his hands through the water before splashing his face. 'Just a dream?' he thought to himself, he knew where it had come from, the tests had shown some kind of reaction. His head churned through the information again, he knew that he would not get any more sleep tonight, so instead he decided to get dressed and head to the labs.
'I might as well run some tests'
He spent the next four hours running simulations and tests of the last few nanoseconds of Omega, every simulation and test showed it reacting at the last second by trying to head out of the container, back the way it had come in. There was no logical reason for the reaction as there was no reaction, or pulse or anything else that would have changed its direction, of course a sentient molecule, that was not logical either.

Without a real Omega particle to test on, it looked like he would never know what had caused Omega to move.
"Computer begin recording" [Breep]
"Cadet Nathanial Doyle's personal log Stardate 240908.29. I have done all I can at this time in regards to finding out if Omega was sentient, but I will hunt down Omega on the day that I gain my own science vessel, for I must know as this will reside in the back of my mind until that day.
Computer end log" [Breep]

It was short, it was to the point, and he knew that it would be a long time till that day, but he knew that one day he would know the answer.
He looked at the time, a few hours till his shift officially started. He had heard a rumour that the Commodore would be asking everyone to head to the Cargo Bay today for some announcement, as such he headed back to his quarters to freshen up and look his best.
