Nathanial stared at the screen, and then shifted his gaze back to the PADD's. The sensor readings were all off, not just by a little bit, but by a considerable amount.
The computer made a beeping sound, he looked up at the screen and the computer voice then said [Diagnostic Complete]
He brought up the diagnostic report. The report came back advising that the standard sensor array as well as the Luna Sensor pod were both working correctly. It was starting to become quite a conundrum, both systems seemed to be working correctly, but both systems were coming back with different sensor readings. He was confident that the standard sensor array readings were the correct ones, which then posed the question, what's wrong with the sensor pod, and why is it coming back saying there is nothing wrong with it? Or worse is there something wrong with the diagnostics?
He decided it was time to get a third opinion, so he headed to the shuttle bay, and to conduct some scans on one of the shuttles, to help pinpoint the issue.

Nathanial headed to one of the type-9 shuttlecrafts, the approval code he had been given worked first time and the door into the shuttle opened. He headed over to the auxiliary station and began to boot up the shuttle.
The Sensor array activated, and he entered in the scan requirements. It was going to take a while, so he walked over to the replicator and grabbed himself a cup of extra hot black coffee.
Walking back to the station, he sat down placing his coffee down, and picked up the PADD he had brought with him containing the data on the two scanner results. The scan's weren't of any real importance, they were of a large asteroid with no major significant aspects, yet the readings both came up with drastic differences, from size to density, and even composition and rotation speed.
The Shuttle computer interrupted his thought process [Scan complete] it said. He picked up his cup of coffee and directed his attention to the screen with the scan results.
"Well at least I know which one has the problems now" He said to himself out loud. He copied the results onto the PADD and began the power down procedure of the shuttle.
The results on the PADD had matched exactly with the Charons standard sensor array.
Nathanial headed back to his office, it was time he organized a team to investigate the Sensor Pod and do some recalibration.

He sat down at his desk, he figured it would be prudent to bring an engineering officer along, just in case. Even if he had done engineering at the academy, it was not something he used everyday, and he was sure that Quentin would not be happy if he tinkered and caused more issues. He quickly contacted Engineering, but instead of getting Quentin he got Lieutenant Sarik Ir'Korthre tr`Vrenak, he explained the situation and the requirement of an Engineer to accompany him, and was given a name, 'Shenn' to assist him on his investigation.
He knew that some of the issues with the pod would also be effecting Stellar Cartography and thought it prudent to bring Galen along as well. "One more should do it" he said to himself out loud. He picked up a PADD with the current science crew manifest and spotted Sutek's name, he had only just joined the crew and as such Nathanial figured it would be a good test of his skills, that and it would make a most interesting of excursions with an Andorian, a Cardassian and a Vulcan....
Nathanial tapped his comm badge " Specialist Shenn, Ensign Rufo and Ensign Sutek, please report to my office"
