Aayla sat in her usual chair near the large arch shaped windows with a cup of something called Orange Juice that chef said Aayla might like. She had hadn't touched the orange liquid and found the floating strips of white in it unsettling. Chef had been trying for days to find a drink that Aayla would like, Chef had said she enjoyed a challenge but cooking for a Vree is a very delicate process. She kept grumbling that Vree were picky eaters, which they are, but Chef hadn't given up hope. While the success rates of her attempts to get Aayla to eat something besides tomato soup had not been high, Aayla found that the chef was a determined woman and would most likely nag her about food until the sun imploded.
Suns. Aayla thought, the word had always meant something to her. Aayla meant twin beauties in Vree and her father had named her after the rising Suns. Kre'aayla was the name for Vre'allia's two cerulean seas that glistened in the red and blue light from the two suns in the canopy of stars above. Sometimes at night you could see the transitory mists that enclosed the Vree Republic and effectively cut it off from the rest of the galaxy. The mists were a combination of wispy dark green cirrus cloud looking nebula's with dark matter at the edges that gleamed from the ultraviolet radiation. The bursts of light from the dark matter acted as a stellar light show and durring the spring on Humbaraine you could see the blasts reflecting on the metalic and mirror like outer walls of the mile high skyscrapers.
Aayla laughed softly at her distance from home and went back to sitting in silence.
