[USS Charon] SD 240912.29| Joint Personal/Duty Log Part I| CMO, ASci & CivNPC| Lieutenant Surian,Cadet Azumi Takada & Nichole “Nikki” Tyler

~Sickbay~

Nikki her eyes closed in sleep as she lies on the bio bed. There was slight movement behind her eyelids as she dreamt, a dream that she sometimes couldn't tell if it was real or just her mind wishing it were real.

~Dream~

"Papa!" She cried out waving him down as her parents were coming home from a mission. She stayed with her father's mother whenever her parents had to go away. She was running to them now, her five year old little hands wrapped around his neck as he lift her into the air and sung her around.

"I brought you a galerian diamond princess." Nathaniel Tyler said holding up the diamond he had them craft into a necklace for her.

"Oh papa, thank you." She said knowing she would treasure it forever.

"Nathaniel you're going to spoil her if you're not careful." Elizabeth Tyler said her long black hair hanging down around her waist and her solid black eyes smiling back at her daughter and husband.

"Mommy!" Nikki cried out and held her arms out to her mother who had always remind her of an ethereal goddess. She hugged her mother fearful that they would leave again… She always missed them when they were gone.

Nikki laid looking for all the world as if she were very peaceful there was even a slight smile on her lips, but her eyes continued to move behind closed lids… her eyes danced under her closed lids her heart jumping slightly at the memories…

~Dream~

Her parents had only stayed for a week that time. Leaving her again with her grandmother, she loved the woman dearly, but at 5 years old she was rather active and Nana wasn't as young as she used to be.

Her parents had been gone longer this time, but she forced them to keep in contact with her.  She was 7 by the time she got the message that they were coming home. She had run to the port side windows near the docking for shuttles. She jumped as she saw their shuttle and hurried back for her grandmother.

Nadia had smiled at her granddaughter as they made their way to the window. However it was then that the shuttle carrying Nathaniel and Elizabeth Tyler had exploded before the eyes of their young daughter and aging mother…

"Papa!" Nikki cried out as she sat up in the biobed breathing heavily and her machine going off. Her hand pressed against her heart and she looked around hoping no one had notice her call for her father… He wouldn't answer…  He hasn't been able to in ten years…  Tomorrow would be her 17th birthday. He's missed every one of them. She closed her eyes fighting the pain of that loss as well as the pain shooting through her from her heart.

Slowly she fell back against the pillow her black hair fanning out on the pillow, opening her eyes she stared up at the sickbay ceiling the violet of her eyes shining with tears she refused to shed. Instead she started to chant a meditation her mother had taught her long ago. One that had been nearly a lullaby, but was closer to a meditation, she had found it in a book on Vulcan meditations a year after her parents' death…

Azumi rushed from her office as the girl called out and her monitor blinked in distress. She came over tricorder out and started scanning her quickly."Tyler-san are you alright?" she asked young girl calmly trying to steady her so her heart would no beat too fast. She took a small hyposprey and injected her as her heart rate was much too fast. It was only mild sedative nothing to slow her reaction time or her thinking, just her heart rate."You must be most careful ok, you no can strain you heart." she say softly.

Nikki started to calm down with the sedative. "Surian..." She said softly. "Can I see him...?" she asked then she was sorry she had worried the doctor, she hadn't meant to...

Azumi look down at the sick teen and scanned her a bit more, comparing her tricoder reading to the monitors. After a few moments she look back at Nikki and nodded."Hai you may have visitors now Tylersan." she said softly. She stepped a few paces away from her and tapped her combadge."Lieutenant Surian please report to sickbay, someone would like to see you." she say happily.

[Science Laboratory 1]

Surian was sitting at his station going over their recent findings of the Iconians degenerating DNA. It seemed a waste to lose an entire race in such away but it was a fascinating study. He heard his combadge chirp and the doctor's voice ring out. The woman's voice was happy so it wasn't bad news about young Nicole Tyler. He stood and moved out of the lab heading toward the sickbay. "Acknowledged." he said simply as he moved to the turbo lift.

[Sickbay some time later]

Surian stepped through the doors and moved up toward the Biobed he had left the young miss Tyler in. His face was as blank as ever and his poster as ramrod straight, but his eyes showed a little relief to see her able to sit up even slightly as he came forward. "Ah Miss Tyler, you are looking well compared to our last encounter." he said to her calmly.

"I feel better." She said softly. "You look... releaved." She said softly noting the look in his eyes. "I did not mean to cause you... concern." She said softly hoping that was the right word.

Surian nodded to her politely."Indeed I must express a certain sense of relief that you are doing better then when we last met. It would be a shame for your light to be extinguished at such a young age." he said to her. For a Vulcan that was a close as you could get to saying he was relieved to see her alive and well.
