Brent had left a team of security men at arms behind to guard the only way out of Deck 8. there was a group of Romulan Gai'Shian down below wandering about and it was his job to do something about it. He had two squads with him to finish off whatever was down below. He moved down first with two other marines to secure the area where the Marines would start out from. Apparently it was deserted. The deck itself glowed with the blue warning that there was no air supply in the deck. Brent considered removing the gravity as well, but figured that might come in handy later on.
Three marines moved stealthily up the corridors scouting for the main group. After a few moments they had manged to dispatch a pair of sentries. They had little time to move before the sentries would have to report in. The marines moved up forward quickly towards the large door. They were trying to cut their way into main engineering. The flashbangs went in first. There was around ten Gai'Shian, but most of them had helmets set to sensitive light. Four of them however reached for their eyes... It was just at that time when Brent gave the order to the computer to cut the power to the gravity plating on Deck 8. The Gai'Shian were taken by suprise at the action, as they began to float upwards in zero gravity. Quick on the move they were immediately turning their magenetic boots on but it was too late. The Marines rushed in and eliminated the threat to Main Engineering quickly, with several shots into all of the Romulans. Brent looked at the heavy doors to Main Engineering and frowned.
"First Lieutenant Warren to bridge. Deck 8 is secure," he said grufly as he looked over at his men. A few had taken wild shots from the Romulans and would need medical attention. "Tell the engineer's their door is a little messed up, it will need some TLC," he said. "We will continue to sweep this floor until we are satisfied it is clear. Warren out."
