[Engineering, Whats left of it.]
The repairs at the Romulan spacedock had been going along quite well dispite mutual mistrust on both sides of the coin. Ensign Milo Haynes was a fresh faced young man who was enjoying his first assignment on the Charon. He was eager and proud to serve on such a fantastic experimental cruise, Romulans and Federation working together? it was perfect. His Enthusiasim cooled somewhat due to the recent mission and the massive damage done to the Charon.
The young human moved through the damaged engineering section now able to move though it properly now that outter hall had been patched. He had a stack of padds and his tool belt in his hands as he marched though on yet another seemingly impossiable task given to him by the Commander. As he walked he ran flush right against the Half Klingon D'Vanna's chest just as she turned around...He blushed as his face came right in contact with the womans....chest."OH God I am so sorry sir!" he said panicingly as his padds dropped onto the mess that was Engineering's deck.
"Sir?" She asked arching an eyebrow at him. "Careful Ensign, I prefer D'Vana or Lt Xavier. no sir, or ma'am's please." She muttered rolling her eyes. "So new orders for the team?" She asked him with an amusing look in her eyes noting the padds he had dropped...
The young Ensign nodded hurriedly and bent down picking up all the padds."Yes ma...Lieutenant Xavier I mean. Commander Calhoun has a whole lot of work for us." he said and motioned to all of the damaged parts of the ship that the Romulans were not allowed in..Engineering being one of the most important ones.
Her lips twitched slightly almost as if she were going to smile, "Well what's this whole lot of work?" She asked trying to keep a straight face...
"Well ma..si...Lieutenant We have to get the Engine room back in working order, The Bridge was heavily damaged. The Lounge was broken up, Deck Three is a mess." he said to her explaining everything that was wrong with the ship."WHere do you want to start?" he asked with a grin.
"Well then since we're already in Engineering, let's see about getting this place back to rights." She said looking around at the mess. "Well then let's get to work..."
Milo nodded and then looked around at a loss for where to begin."Well I'd say getting the pool table back up and running would be a very good idea don't you Lieutenant?" he said trying to sound eager and full of get up and go for the Serious Klingon Engineer.
"Yes, we'll have to clean out this debris, the paneling to the 'pool' table is ruined most of it is charged right through. A lot of the isolinear chips and gel-packs will have to be replaced to and conduit. You and lizzy will work with me on getting this mess cleaned up and Erin, Evelyn and Jeff will take care of getting the supplies we need to start getting this place back together." D'Vana said giving them jobs considering Calhoun wasn't in engineering at the moment to give out jobs...
Milo nodded and looked at the monumental task ahead of them."Thats why they pay us the big bucks huh Lieutenant?" he asked sarcastically but in a playful way. He moved to start clearing the debris off the pool table and get a path so the work details could get in and out more easily.
"Yeah you could say that ensign. make sure you check that stuff we don't wanna recycle anything that could be salvaged." She said softly as they set to work cleaning up, Lizzy was checking the damaged isolinear chips...
"Yes si...ma..damnit D'Vanna." he said after a minuite of stumbling over his words and finely got his Tricorder out and started scanning the wreckage for anything salvageable. He moved up toward the busted Pool table and scanned the outter pannel and scowled."This entire thing is going to have to go..This thing is worse off then a china shop with an enraged Nassican in it.."
D'Vana nod, suppressing a smile from him. "Good." She said grinning as she would able to work off some frustration they set to work clearing the debris and trying to get it into a somewhat neat pile so that they weren't tripping over it. by the time they had cleaned the area around the 'pool' table to work Erin and Jeff returned with some of the smaller supplies, like wiring, isolinears even gel-packs to get them started.
"We're still replicating some of the paneling." Erin said her vulcan features giving way to a smile as she and Jeff started back towards the supply master...
Milo trying to show the Half Klingon he was a manly man despite being only 19 himself tried to pull part of the ruined panel away. He pulled with all his might until a vein started to protrude from his neck. COME ON MILO YOU CAN DO THIS!! he shouted to himself. After a moment it seemed he was going to bust several blood vessels in his head he let go and slumpped his shoulders."Um...Lieutenant...Can you help me with this?" he said embarrassed
She gave him a nod and looked at him as if she were going to growl. Then she smiled. "Come on young warrior, you almost had it." She said motioning for him to help her. This piece was in good, but he had proved himself able so she wasn't going to do it on her own. "Besides even Klingons have to ask for help at some point. just dont' tell anyone I said that." She grinned...
