[USS Charon] SD240908.22 | Lieutenant Commander Calhoun | Chief Engineer

OOC NOTE: Takes place prior to Temporal Insanity Part XI (1&2)

"Temporal Insanity Part X: Ad Finem Ultimum"

2 Hours Remaining...

Location: Frozen Wasteland – Array Site - Lyrilla

After the briefing had finished Quentin leaned back in the cold seat and closed his eyes for a brief moment of bliss where he could pretend his wasn't in this cold frozen wasteland about to potentially destroy the entirety of space and time with his crazy plan. He was also running out stimulant which meant the fatigue and pain was slowly taking more of an effect on him that he needed during these crucial last couple of hours. He was fatigued but had to push on and see this thing through otherwise there would be grave consequences. He sighed as he opened his eyes and finished the recalibrations of the inverse tachyon chrono deflector on his console. There was now one last final thing for him to do. Readjust the sensory node dish array at the top of the pylon. The ladder and access hatch to this area of the array would already be frozen so the climb would be slippery and dangerous and the hatch at the top most likely frozen shut. Now the blizzard had died down though it was safe to attempt the final repair work and adjustments; without it the exit wouldn't work and the planet would get stuck in space and time.

Pulling himself together and pressing the hypospray to his neck he immediately felt slightly better once he had injected a rationed dose of stimulant. Grabbing a tech kit and suiting up in the cold-weather gear Quentin headed outside into the somewhat more peaceful surroundings than it had been a couple of hours previous. Climbing to the top of the hill where the array had been constructed. He looked up at it and sighed, was certainly a long way up. He clipped the toolkit to his belt and wondered why exactly he had put the console he needed so high up, and then he remembered… so it didn't get lost or damaged in the hellish weather. He sighed to himself and started the long climb to the top of the array and the small platform. He could see the dull light of the orbital platform above and hoped that the Teacher was ok in there alone holding it together enough for them to follow through with the plan and hopefully save this dying world and its hopeful population.

As he reached the top of the platform after the long climb he clipped himself to the railing and unclipped the toolkit and opened up the console hatch. The array needed a minor adjustment and as he begun to work he couldn't help but take a moment and look up at the sky. It was peaceful and quiet and like the moment before a violent storm. He wondered how long the peace would last and if the skies would ever clear properly and if this world would ever be the same again after being dragged through space and time. He sighed and hoped he want about to kill billions of innocent people and carried on with his work to readjust the array ready for the exit after the planet had been flung into the opening rift.

With the work finished and the array platform successfully aligned properly he unclipped himself and headed back down to the bunker to wait… and dose himself up on stimulant. He would need it for what was about to come.
