[USS Charon] SD241001.11 Joint Duty Log Cmdr. E Katris & Col. S Thorten

     ------- Start Joint Log -------

Eithne leaned onto the arm of the Command chair. Other than the abnormal sensor reading there was nothing else interesting that happened during her shift. So far at least. From what she understood there were a couple new crew members due to arrive any day now. That would at least make her shifts a little more interesting.

Sam had convinced the enlisted man that had greeted him to take him to his quarters first.  That had allowed him to drop off his duffel bag and tell the Guardian transporters where the other box of his gear was to go.  After that he had only stretched and relaxed for a few moments before he had decided to go and introduce himself to the command staff.

He had learned that the Captain was off duty now and decided to go up to the bridge and see if he could find the executive officer.  Sam exited the turbolift, casting a few glances around at the crew as they seemed to only look at him then ignore the full Colonel.  Sam moved down towards the Command chair before his face broke out into a smile.

"Well well well.  Aren't you a sight for sore eyes commander," he said recognizing commander Eithne.

Looking towards the doors a brow was rose as she recognized who it was the moment her eyes rested on him. " Well isn't this a pleasant surprise." She smiled as she stood and moved over to him. " How are you Colonel?"

He smiled at her as she stood up.  "It's been a little while.  Since I think the Warrior yes?" he asked the commander.  "It's been some time.  It is good to see you again.  How have the years treated you Commander?" he asked.

She gave him a weary smile but shrugged her shoulders none the less. " Well... Some were good, some were bad... I am glad to say this has been a good one so far." She nodded and motioned towards the Ready Room. " It has been some years... I think since Jade and I were first married."

"I still have a hard time believing that he settled down.  He always seemed to be running away for some god forsaken mission someplace or another.  "Have you two got any children?"

Once they were in the Ready Room she motioned for him to have a seat so they can continue their talk. " Aye... We have a Daughter. She is ten now..." Hard to explain since she was only born four years ago, but if he asked, she would tell.

Sam didn't quite follow the math but he figured that she could explain it later.  "I'm here as an observer for the light Marine detachment that the have here.  I was told to check in and here I am checking in with you."

She chuckled and gave him a nod. " Aye. They should be down in the barracks as we are not currently in any mission. It was nice to see you... Perhaps we could get together for dinner. Jade would be very happy to see you I am sure."

"Dinner would be good, I'd love that," he said with a smile.  "It will be good to see Jade too.  How long have you two been on the Charon here?"

She thought a moment. " Well. I have been on Charon for a little under a year... and Jade a few months now...It took him a while to get back from his last mission."

Sam nodded.  "Sounds like you two have had some up and downs.  I'm glad that you two are still together.  I imagine being married to Jade must be an adventure in and of itself," he winked at her.

She laughed out loud before her gaze settled on him again. " I suppose..." She was silent for a moment in her thoughts before she spoke again. " We have... some healing to do still though... But things are good. I will explain more to you when you come for dinner."
