[USS Charon] SD241001.14 - Joint Log "The Tempest" Part I - Captain Shiarrael Rehu & Commander Dylan Marcus

=/\= Deck 2 corridor - en route to Captain's Quarters =/\=

Dylan wasted no time in heading toward the captain's quarters. He looked over the document well as much as his vulcan allowed him to read that was. He didn't know what the Temep Shar was or what it meant to this ship, but if the Tal'Shiar wanted it; it couldn't mean anything good for Charon.

"Alice, see if you can wake the Captain without having to wake the children by ringing the door." he said knowing the ship's AI would hear him.

{I will do my best} Alice responded.

=/\= Moments later Captain's bed room =/\=

Alice materialized silently and stood next to the captain. she spoke in a hushed voice, but one only the Captain would hear. {Captain, Commander Marcus asked me to wake you, He said it is urgent. He is on his way and asked me to wake you as to not wake the children.} she said hoping the Captain would be amenable.

Shiarrael shot up and instinctively her hand sliced through the air towards ALICE's neck- had ALICE been an actual being and not made of photons her neck might have snapped from the blow.  Instead Shiarrael's hand sailed harmlessly through creating only a momentary disruption in ALICE's figure.  As her brain gauged the situation Shiarrael relaxed and propped her exhausted frame up using her elbows.  "What is this about?" she asked in a crisp and almost inaudible whisper.  Her heart still raced from being startled.  She pressed her hand against her chest hoping it wouldn't wake the children who had miraculously remained asleep through the brief commotion.

{Commander Marcus will be here in moments, he said he has urgent information that needs your immediate attention. she said. It effects our current mission.} she replied.

Marcus managed to make it to the Door to the cabin with minimum of trouble, having already nearly ran over an ensign in the turbo lift.

{Commander Marcus is outside.} The AI said smiling, happy to help.

"I see."  Shiarrael said, not truly seeing.  If he needed her he should have contacted her directly- sending Alice to 'prod' her out of bed was ill considered.  With a sigh Shiarrael carefully she slid out of bed and wrapped a silk robe over her nightgown.  She glared at Alice, realized the computer wouldn't care and simply frowned "since you're here Alice- watch the children."  After leaving her room she headed straight for the door and opened it almost barreling into Marcus as she stepped out.  Stopping with her nose barely a few inches from his adams apple she grimaced "Commander- having Alice rouse me from my sleep was not the brightest method.  Now, before I lose my patience what is this about?"

"My apologies Captain, I didn't want to risk the comm with the children sleeping." He said. He handed her the PADD, the one that came from the Vucan delegates. "Captain, this regards the Temp Shar. According to the data, the Tal'Shiar know about it and are looking for it as well."

She took the PADD and started to peruse the data- her tired eyes resembled glass marbles as she went through the information.  Methodically reading and digesting each sentence.  She looked at Marcus and inhaled deeply closing her eyes- she waited, let a long silence consume her and then abruptly opened her eyes and slammed the PADD into the wall "ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT WE HAVE BEEN FOOLED BY THE VULCANS THIS ENTIRE TIME?  THAT THIS MISSION IS A FARCE?!"  Her eyes were wide and veins begin to crawl their way into her forehead- months of general clam, patience gave way to rage- pure rage.  "Where is Sakarra?!"

Dylan didn't blame the Captain for her reaction; he was less than happy with the news himself. But he could hardly claim to know what was going through her mind right now. "She was in she is in the brig. She turned herself in after some rather unorthodox orders, but I had her released to her quarters." He looked The Captain in the eye. "Captain, I understand the anger, it hasn't been the first time that The Vulcans have... restructured the truth to their favor."

"She was in the brig?"  Shiarrael had to pause before the madness overtook her.  After another moment of careful thought she tightened the robe's belt around her waist and tied it "arrest all of the Vulcan scientists.  I am going to see Commander Tyrax."  She twisted around and stormed towards the turbo lift.  Stopping midway to the lift she realized her commbadge was currently in her quarters on the nightstand.   She turned around and backtracked a few steps to one of the wall consoles and opened a line to the bridge "This is the Captain.  Full stop."  With the order given she stormed past two officers and barreled through a third before entering the lift.  One officer who was in the lift look at the Captain and then quickly exited before the doors closed.  Shiarrael gnashed her teeth trying her best to contain the rage that was coursing through her veins "Deck 3."

Marcus nodded. He turned instinctively as the captain pushed past him and into the turbo lift. He tapped his comm badge. "Marcus to security, I want all the Vulcan scientists arrested immediately." he said as he turned to follow the captain. Someone had to be the voice of reason, he thought.
