Kallistra waltzed into her office with jumja tea in hand before settling comfortably into the seat. Running a hand through her hair, she gazed at the screen, her green eyes darting back and forth as she read the itinerary for the day. Her first appointment was a young man, an Ensign Allan Newton before settling a dispute between a Tellarite named Lieutenant Gav and an Andorian, Lieutenant Thel'azhuune. Allowing a small smile, she studied the chronometer then turned her chair once she heard a small chime at the door announcing the arrival of her first appointment.
"Enter." She said, raising her voice slightly. Smiling politely, she watched as the young man entered. He was about six foot in height with dark hair and intense dark eyes. She thought he seemed like a nice man although a little nervous and she could sense some anger behind those brooding eyes.
"How are you today, Ensign Newton? Everything is well, I hope?" She inquired, tucking one leg beneath the other and resting her hands on her knees.
"Yes, thank you." He stated in a subdued tone. "And you?"
"Recovering from a cold but as well as can be for the present moment." She brought the tea to her lips, taking a small sip before setting it back down. "Now, Mr. Newton. I would like you to explain your problem. When you explain…don't leave anything out. Remember, this is confidential and it is all about you. Helping you figure out your issues."
At first he was barely able to mutter a single syllable and it was to the point where Kallistra had to coax a sentence out of him. His responses were one-word responses and he was very timid in his manner. After a while he was less tense about the whole issue and began to speak of his problems with authority due to his mistreatment by his father.
"When I was a younger man. In my teenage years." He started, almost tearful at the conversation. "My father was so controlling. Before I even entered startfleet, he was so commandeering that he expect my brother and myself to be exactly like him."
The rest of the appointment seemed to go on quicker as he began to emerge from his figurative shell. The dispute between the Tellarite and the Andorian were nearly at each other's throat. The Andorian was enraged that the Tellarite insulted his honor so he felt the need to avenge his honor. It was a most peculiar situation and it took nearly two hours of incessant mediating to diffuse the situation. After that particular issue, she was visited by a young cadet that was having issues with separation from her family. When that appointment had finished, she eventually closed up her office for the day and went back to her quarters.
