Mark turned, leaned down to move the bags out of the man's way. "Hi. Sorry
didn't mean to startle you." Then he offered his hand, noting the blush, the sad
eyes and a handsome visage.

Auden took a deep breath and rose up on his own, he didn't mean to be rude but
he didn't want the man's help in getting up. "Who exactly are you and what are
you doing in my quarters?" He took a look around and could see two separate beds
on each side of the room.

Mark watched him get up without his assistance, let it go, then stepped back.
"Mark Dexter, and with the size of this ship, I'm afraid it's our quarters.
Don't worry, I'll stay out of your way." It was only a guess, but Mark had no
desire to make the man uncomfortable, and he seemed to have expected privacy.

Auden was so frustrated he hadn't even noticed his certain arousal to the fact
that there was a half naked, very well toned man in front of him. He quickly
used one of his bags to cover a certain area and moved over to the empty bed
throwing his stuff there and taking a seat, he hoped that Mark hadn't noticed.
"Listen. I am sorry for being so forward with you. I had been expecting my own
quarters; it was supposed to have been arranged." He looked up at the tall man,
who was much bigger than he was.

Mark noticed the other man's reaction, controlled his own. The other officer was
after all a handsome young man. Mark pulled on a shirt, then sat on his own bed.
"It's ok. Look, I'll see what I can do ok? Worse comes to worse I can crash in
the science lab"

Auden took a few deep breaths. He could do this. He was a professional Starfleet
officer and a doctor; there was no practical reason why he should make things
hard on Mark. "I do not think so Mark." He realized that he hadn't even
introduced himself, getting up he slowly and sheepishly walked over to the other
man. Auden extended his hand. "Doctor Auden Anderson."

Mark gave him a small smile, extended his hand and shook Auden's lightly. "Nice
to meet you doctor. Are you sure? I don't mind."

'He has got quite the grip…' Auden thought to himself before letting go and
taking a few steps back. "Listen. I'll be straight forward with you." He turned
around and paced himself a little bit further from Mark. "Without going into to
much detail. I sometimes have night terrors. So as long as you can deal with
being woken up every now and then…." He looked back at Mark hoping that he
wasn't freaking him out.

Mark nodded, understanding dawning. No wonder the man had wanted privacy. "Look,
everybody gets the screaming heeby jeebies from time to time. Just tell me how
you prefer to deal with them. Wake you up? Not wake you up?" He kept his tone
light, hoping to reassure Auden.

Auden chuckled lightly. He was still weary but could be convinced in time that
this could work. "Usually I wake up on my own…" He made his way back over to his
bed and sat down, for some reason it didn't seem as far away from Mark anymore.
"If you don't mind waking me up though. I mean. If it's not a problem. I would
appreciate it."

"Not a problem at all." He smiled, pulled his eyes away from the other man with
some effort. "So what kind of doctor are you?" He asked, hoping to get Auden to
relax a bit more.

"Just a medical doctor." He leaned back a bit and crossed his legs, he was
feeling more comfortable which was nice. "I haven't a specialty quite yet. I
like everything too much to specialize." He continued to tell Mark a little bit
more about his training and profession but stopped mid-sentence having realized
that he was blabbering on. "Listen. I'm sorry." Auden chuckled a bit. "Once you
get me going on medicine. It's hard to get me to shut up. What's your job Mark?"

Mark watched Auden, pleased to see the man apparently relax a bit. His
enthusiasm was apparent, and Mark felt a brief wave of jealousy, wishing there
was something he felt so passionate about. "It's fine. It was interesting,
really." He smiled. "I'm a communications expert, cryptology mostly, some
linguistics."

Auden sat up a little bit straighter, "Really? How interesting. Do you speak any
other languages other than English?"

Mark wasn't sure if the interest was feigned or genuine, but he smiled anyway.
"Yes, a few."

"That is so neat!" Auden sounded quite enthused. "I have always wanted to learn
another language; I tried when I was younger but just couldn't get my head
around it. It truly takes a talent of which I just do not possess."

"I'm sure if you really put your mind to it, you'd be fine. But that's what the
universal translator is for, right?" Mark felt rejuvenated by the man's
enthusiasm. Whatever had caused his skittish behavior earlier obviously hadn't
damaged his soul, which caused Mark to smile wider, then catch himself.

Auden and Mark continued to talk for a while until Auden walked over to entryway
leading into the bathroom. "I'm going to take a sonic shower and then have a
little rest. It was nice meeting you Mark." He looked up again at the man
sporting a pearly white smile.

"Yeah, nice to meet you. I'm gonna scram for awhile, let you rest." Mark smiled
back, got up and prepared to gather a few things to keep him busy outside their
temporary shared quarters.

=/\= Dylan and Lizzy's Quarters - USS Charon =/\=

Dylan stopped off at the ship's stores after seeing the captain to request a transfer off ship. He held a bouquet of roses in his hands as he entered their quarters. "Lizzy are you home yet?" he asked.

"I'm in the bathroom." She called back washing her face. she had gotten off an hour ago and she was trying to clean up so that she could relax.

He smiled and set the flowers on the table and took his uniform tunic off and set it on the back of a chair. "Long day today wasn't it?" he asked,. He picked up the flowers and walked to meet her. He gave her a hug from behind and let her see the flowers as he hugged her.

"yeah trust me I could use a good hour or two in the holodeck spa." Lizzy said with a grin when she saw him. She hugged his arms as they wrapped around her and gasped at the roses. "Oh Dylan their beautiful."

"Well, they aren't as beautiful as you, but I thought of you when i saw them." he said.  "I think the the holodeck sounds good.  Gives us a chance to talk as well."

"Talk? Oh I see, you did something without discussing it with me first didn't you?" she asked him one hand on her hip, the other holding the roses to her nose...

He smiled. "Well sorta." he said. "I went to the Captain and asked for a transfer off ship. I thought with all the attempts on her life and the issues with the Vulcans and romulans, that CHaron was no place to start to raise a family." he smiled.

"You want to raise a family?" Lizzy asked...

He smiled at that. He wondered if she would catch that. It was true they had Tovol. It was not the same as having their own.  "I was thinking about it." he said with a kiss.

"Well I'm sure Tovol wouldn't mind having siblings to play with." Lizzy said softly giving him another smile.

"So does that mean your ok with that idea?" he asked. He gave her a hug and kissed her neck."

"Mmm your my husband Dylan, If I didn't want kids with you then who else would I have children with?" Liz asked him.

"Cute hun." he said. "I wasn't sure you wanted to so soon, not that I'm arguing." he smiled.

"well no one said it had to be soon, after all practice makes perfect." She giggled leaning back against him and turning her head to kiss him on the lips...

"practice does make perfect." he said. "But first some relaxing time in the holodeck." he smiled.

"Mmm really? what kind of relaxing time in the holodeck?" She asked still leaning back against him...
"nice hot tub, maybe some light music, candle light." he said nipping at her shoulder.

"mmm now that does sound very very relaxing." Lizzy moaned arching her neck so he could reach more of her shoulder as she pressed back against him nice and snug.

"Yes it does." he said. "If you grab some towels, I will get the suits." he smiled.

"Sure." She grinned and kissed him before making her way to the linen closet.
"he grabbed the suits and smiled at her as he waited by the door."

It took Liz no time at all to get the towels and meet him by the door. she motioned for him to lead the way after all this was his idea.

He lead them down the corridor. "So I received an offer to join a new ship heading for the Delta Quadrant. Then USS Nautilus. She is a deep space exploration ship."

"And you thought she would be safer to raise a family on?" Lizzy asked as she walked with him.

"No inter government political interests, no one trying to kill the captain, Yea I thought it was something that was a somewhat safer place. Unless of Course you are planning on giving up your commission?" he teased.

"Well no, but I might get out of engineering and try my hand at piloting helm." Lizzy said softly. "this way I don't risk getting blown up fixing the ship, though I could get blown up flying the ship." Lizzy grinned at him...

"this is true," but as long as u dont fly into any planets, i think we should be good."

"I think so to." Lizzy said softly. She gave him a kiss an stepped onto the lift with him.

The rest of the trip was uneventful. They passed several people that he came to think of as a sort of family away from home. It was not going to be an easy transfer that was for sure. The other factor was what to say to Alice. "You know that Alice is going to miss you the most." he said.

"I know, this is going to be a hard transfer isn't it Dylan?" Liz asked him softly not at all surprised that it would be hard. they had both managed to make friends on this ship and she was going to miss them all especially that insane Romulan Captain that loved to put them at risk to do what was right...] As the doors to the Holodeck opened to a pre programmed tropical spa, Alice, the ships Security AI appeared.

"hello, Commander Marcus, Lizzy. WHo is transferring?" the young AI asked with a curiosity of a child exploring her world.

jumped at the unexpected appearance of alice. though she shouldn't be surprised. the young AI had a habbit of showing up when least expected. "Hello Alice how are you today?" Lizzy asked instead she didn't want to be the one to tell her closest friend about the transfer when they hadn't even told Dylan's adopted son...

Dylan smiled. He had gotten use to her entrances. "Hello Alice. Lizzy and I were discussing the option to transfer to another ship. We feel that Charon may not be the best place to raise a family." HE said.

Lizzy looked to Alice wondering if the woman's feelings could be hurt. they probably could and she would feel horrible about it, but she would go where Dylan went after all he is her husband... even if it meant giving up her commission...

"Leaving?" Alice asked. "Who will repair me, who will i strive to be like? " she asked.

Lizzy was going to cry she knew it, but she wouldn't do it here. "I have good friends in engineering Alice, Robin might not be as good as I am, but she'll take really good care of you." Lizzy said softly.

"I appreciate the thought, Thank you." she said. "I don't understand this concept of Families yet, but I believe a Hug is customary when saying good bye to someone you care about." she said giving Lizzy a hug.

Dylan smiled again. "Who said anything about good bye?" he asked. "We can simply make a copy of your program and take you with us. " he said.

Lizzy hugged Alice anyways because she was being hugged. "We're not saying good bye Alice, you know this but your program is intergrated into the ships computer now. we can copy you and keep you with us even though you'll be on the charon." Lizzy agreed with her husband...

"I'd Like that" She said. "I have to go and ask Savant for advice, I havent had more than one copy of myself before." she said with a smile and then disappeared.

Lizzy blinked and looked at Dark. "Savant has more then one copy?" She asked puzzled, "How?" She asked then curious as well because she would have to maintain this copy of Alice that they will be taking with them...

"Savant has several copies as I understand it, but I have not really seem much more than her record." Dylan said. "For now, why don't we relax and we can worry about the transfer requests later, the Nautilus doesnt officially launch for another couple of weeks." he said.

"Well we'd have to request where we want to be assigned don't we? I'm thinking helm because if need be I could be the best pilot she has on an away mission. and I am damn good at flying." She grinned at him...

"Sounds good." Now I have some other plans that sound good too." he said with a wicked grin."

[USS Charon] SD.241007.27 || Backlog || "Falling for two?" || LtJG Auden Anderson

…BEGIN LOG…

Auden steadied his breathing as his left leg rose high up into the air. He delicately rotated 360 degrees by holding his body weight throughout the core of his abdomen and stepping up onto the tips of his right toes. His arms were arched inwards making him look almost angelic. He could feel the classic works of Vivaldi move throughout him, the timing, every note and every rest gave birth to movement within his body.

"Auden. That's beautiful!"

The young doctor, who was currently dressed in tight fitting spandex practically jumped out of his skin. His concentration and balance was obviously interrupted and he plummeted to the deck plating of his quarters. "Computer. Pause music." He took a deep breath and couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Oh my goodness. I am so sorry Auden! My big mouth and I sometimes don't know when to shut up. You know that by now!" The young, beautiful and energetic Kyrona Nitala stood nearby him. "I rang the door bell but you did not answer and it was not locked so I decided to come in."

Auden lifted himself up from the floor and patted himself down. "That's alright Kyrona, I should have locked it if I had not wanted to be disturbed." He began to stretch a bit and Kyrona sat down on the small sofa to her left. "You never did tell me that you danced Auden, especially so beautifully."

Auden sat adjacently to Kyrona on a lounge chair once he had felt he stretched enough. "It's not something I do in front of people anymore. I used to dance competitively back on Earth and I did it recreationally for the crew of the Ticonderoga." He looked down for a moment, "Just something I keep to myself now."

Kyrona frowned. "No offense Auden but that's just plain stupid. Why would you waste such beautiful talent?" She was planning on continuing to probe as to why this was but the transport dropped out of warp. Auden looked out of the viewport and could see a starbase nearby, had they finally reached their first drop off point?

"Ah. Perfect. This is exactly why I was coming to see you. I figured you didn't read the communication sent through earlier." Kyrona looked over to Auden and he looked back at her puzzled. "We no longer get a couple days to not feel stuffed onboard a tin-can. We've been ordered onboard the Quantum Fury as soon as we dock with the starbase."

Auden groaned. "What?! We were supposed to get at least a couple of days to stretch our legs." He was obviously distraught at the prospect of being tossed onto a vessel smaller than the transport they were on now. "I know. I know. Think how fast these three weeks went though Auden. We'll be onboard the Charon before you know it!" Kyrona stood back up and joined Auden by the viewport. "Besides. There might be a cute boy onboard for you," She started laughing and Auden rolled his eyes, "Yeah right…"

= / \ = [A little while later….]

Auden stumbled his way through the corridors on the Quantum Fury, headed to his quarters. He had arranged for a private room after speaking with his former counsellor. He still needed his privacy and did not want his night terrors to disturb any particular roommate he may have. It was obvious that he was carrying more than he could handle though. He wasn't used to carrying things on his own, Geordan was the one that used to do most of the heavy labour for him and back at home he had his brother Gavin.

Finally reaching his assigned quarters he tapped in his entry code and the doors opened. Auden stumbled in sideways and as the doors closed behind him he was caught off guard by a half naked, solidly built man off his blind-side. "Ah!" Auden yelped and he tripped over himself, falling to the floor. He looked up at the beautiful man before him and could feel himself turning many different shades of red.

He waited a moment until his throat cleared up, "Ummmmm… Hi." He greeted the mysterious looking man with a squeaky voice.
